Skyline Mine, in the Eccles Canyon of Utah, was the site of one of our recent projects. This mine averages 2.5 million TONS of coal per year in sales, and our job was to use LiDAR technology to scan coal stockpiles to asses exact volume for Skyline Mine’s quality assurance data.
We love using LiDAR technology because it provides us the safety to scan large amounts of substances, like coal, from a distance. LiDAR technology can also provide more accurate data information for our clients, and it is much quicker to use, leading to lower costs, which is a win all around!
